    • Hi Luiz,

Usually lye comes in pellets or flakes, but the form is not very important. Important is to buy it from a trustworthy source, so you know it’s 100% NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide) and it’s not contaminated with other substances. If it’s contaminated then that can ruin the quality of your soap. You can find good quality lye in household items shops. Please do not buy soda crystals, it’s not the same as lye (caustic soda).

    • This differs from country to country, and in some countries you don’t have specific grades. The most important thing is that you buy pure Sodium Hydroxide, with no additives, to make sure your formula won’t be affected.
